Nach langer Suche haben wir endlich eine vielversprechende Herberge für unsere erste Woche gefunden! Das war gar nicht so einfach, da sich viele Hostels in Dubai anscheinend an den Preisen der Nobelhotels dort orientieren… Aber lest selbst:
„The YHA Dubai is located on Al Nahda Road between Al Mulla Plaza and the Al Bustan Centre on the same side of the road near the Al Ali club. Any Dubai Taxi driver will know those places even if they do not know the exact location of the YHA. There are now apparently two hostels on the same site referred to as “ Old“ and „New“. It is a two story building with big Blue letters „UAE YOUTH HOSTELS ASSOCIATION „on it.
Normal taxi fare would be about Dhs 10-15 but airport taxis have a flag fall of Dhs 20 so it will be about Dhs 30-35 unless you leave the airport area to catch a city cab. Normal Flag fall around the city is Dhs 4. It is 10 minutes at the most from terminal 1,closer from terminal 2. Cost is Dhs 45 or 65 per night.
The Youth hostel is great! Brand new rooms with twin beds, AC, TV, fridge, own bathroom, and there’s a cafeteria inside and a bus stop in front! Takes you 15 minutes / 1 Dh. to the gold souq by bus from there. With the membership card I paid 65 Dh. in the double room (only me) – all other city hotel start from at least 150 Dh.!!!“
Dann bin ich mal gespannt ob wir das finden, und ob man da auch ohne Membership Card reinkommt… Werde denen aber auch nochmal ne eMail schreiben. Wird aber sicherlich trotzdem sehr abenteuerlich das Ganze 
Der Abflug rückt immer näher, Tickets sind bezahlt, Rucksäcke gekauft, Visa beantragt und genehmigt.
Achso, am 21.10. isses dann soweit und es geht erstmal für ne Woche nach Dubai! Falls wir danach noch genug geld haben um weiterzureisen sind wir dann am 28. in Sydney und müssen vermutlich sofort anfangen zu arbeiten um nicht auf der straße zu landen.
Übrigens: In Dubai wurde das Gesetz der Todesstrafe und Stockschläge aus der Schariah(?) ausgeschlossen, wir haben also nichts zu befürchten >)
Hier in unserem Blog werden Tom und ich bald hoffentlich recht regelmäßig von unseren Erlebnissen aus Australien (oder wohin es uns noch so verschlägt) berichten. Wir würden uns freuen wenn ihr dann ab und zu mal hier vorbeischaut… Bis dahin bleibt aber noch einiges zu tun, also bis bald!
